What a crazy week! Between St. Patrick's Day, Easter, the egg hunts and working full time, we also managed to get a dog. She's Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix and she's about 8 months old and 36 pounds. So far her transition to our home is going well. We don't know anything about her start in life since she is a rescue dog, however her temperment is perfect for the girls. While both of the girls are enjoying the dog, Sophia is the one who is most attached to her.
Coming up with a name for the dog was quite a challenge for us. None of us could agree on what to name her. From the beginning of our dog hunt, when the girls were asked what they wanted to name the dog, Sophia always said "UnderrrrrDOGGGGG". We didn't go with that for a first name since none of us can say it without saying it like "UnderrrrrDOGGGGGG". We could see ourselves yelling after the dog and having our neighbors thinking we were in distress calling out for a fictional dog hero. So, Maggie-Underdog it is. And yes, that will be her official name at the vet and when she gets registered.
Maggie is fun and puppy-like still. She has a very gentle mouth but loves to find things to want to chew. She isn't fully potty trained just yet but isn't too far from being trained. She's not the greatest on the leash but we are working on that. She is however trying very hard to be a lap dog which the girls absolutely love about her. Here is her debut:
