Happy St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's Day is always a big day for us. Last night I did my yearly talk with the girls about leprechauns. We talk about how they are like little Irish fairies who live in a hidden world and come out on St. Patrick's Day to play tricks on us. We love that they play tricks!
This morning Sidney woke up Sophia at 6:15am to see if Lucky the Leprachaun came to visit. And visit he did! He left some clues as to where he had been in the house....he turned the toilet water green (you can figure how THAT got there), he left pennies all over the backyard patio, he put the breakfast table chairs on top of the table (one was even upside down), he put the breakfast bowls on the floor and he left even more pennies by the breakfast bowl. The best thing is that Lucky brought Lucky Charms! I only let the girls eat sugary cereal once a year, and St. Patrick's Day is the exception.

When Sophia saw all the pennies this morning, she immediately put her hands on her hips and said "he brought money, that's what he did! That's terrible!" I wonder if she was expecting chocolate???

It was a great morning and I hated to have to go to work. That reminds me, if you'd like me (and you!) to be able to stay home on St. Patrick's Day, please go to http://www.proposition317.com/ and vote to make St. Patrick's Day an official holiday. If you are thinking, "ah I'm not Irish, I don't need to vote" remember EVERYONE is Irish on St. Patrick's Day!

As long as you vote for Cinco De Moustache as a national holiday.
