Sidney was selected for student of the week last week. She came home last Friday so excited about being selected. When I asked her how come she was selected first in her whole class, she said it's because she doesn't talk much in class and follows directions (I wonder why she doesn't do this at home?!?!). When you are selected, the teacher gives you a blank poster to work on over the weekend. You draw pictures on it, glue your picture(s) to it and write things about yourself. Sidney was so excited, we had to do almost the entire poster Friday night. This meant getting on the computer, selecting the photos she wanted printed out, sending them off to be printed (and an hour later picking them up) and then gluing/drawing on the poster. I was exhausted after a long week, but I couldn't let my kid down and we actually had a pretty fun time. Once she got to school on Monday, her special privileges started. She was so excited to be first in line every time the kids had to line up somewhere. On Friday, she presented her poster to the whole class and also got to bring a special toy to share as well. This little stinker snuck two extra toys to school to share too. I can only imagine how long her presentation was!
