Candyland

The girls took an active role this year in planning their birthday party. (I consider it early job training...what labor laws?) They decided that Candyland would be a great theme for a party and we ran with it. We got out the board game and created up some activities for the party and decorating ideas. Not to mention what kind of candy they wanted. Let's just say, we had a ton of candy at the party and if I had left that all up to the girls, we would have had a ton more. The kids who came to the party, left with more candy then what they get on Halloween!

The highlight of the party, was most definitely when the kids all bum-rushed the candy table. It was clear that these kindergartners and first graders had never been given free access to so many choices. A highlight for me was hearing the parents reactions to the party. Ok, so I tend to go all out for their parties...what can I say? It's. what. I. do. :)

Activities included arts/crafts, gumdrop relay races, singing karaoke songs that all had to do with candy, dancing, peanut toss, a chocolate fountain and lots of candy eating!

Special shout outs: thank you parents who decided to stay with your child. Thank you Shirl!
