Here comes some competition!
Today we took the training wheels off the girls bikes. I've been telling them they will not get new bikes until they learn to ride without training wheels.
When we've tried this in the past, it was a very frustrating experience for everyone. The girls were always afraid of falling and were too scared to pedal. Today was a piece of cake. Sophia was up first (no surprise there). I held on to her while she put both feet on the pedals and off she rode without assistance. We were all screaming, we were so excited. Inside of 20 minutes, Sophia was asking the other kids if they wanted to race, she was flying down the driveway and riding with one hand. Next up was Sidney. She needed a little more reassurance, but same experience. She pretty much rode her bike right out of my hands. Her favorite thing to do is ride real fast and then slam on her breaks. I'm sure you can imagine what we did all day.
It looks like Santa is going to have to bring new bikes this Christmas!
