Finally.....vacation!

On Friday, August 24th we left for our Southern California vacation. Since we were pulling a trailer, we decided to make the trip over two days. The first day we drove to the big town of Bakersfield and stayed in a hotel. Our hotel happened to be near Buck Owens' Crystal Palace so we went there for dinner and was taken back to the 70's. The restaurant was huge and people from all over come to eat there (much to my dismay). They have country western entertainers there and big screens that show reruns of the Buck Owens show and Hee Haw (now when was the last time you said "Hee Haw"?) Bakersfield was my personal hell but the girls and I made the most of it by jumping on the bed in the hotel room.
