Half Moon Bay/Santa Cruz

We're back from a long weekend we've been looking forward to. We were looking for a quick trip, not far from home, that would get us out of the heat and smoke. We packed in so much in three days, playing on the beach, attending a parade, watching the fireworks off the pier in Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, movies, playtime, board games and the list goes on. The girls didn't want to come home.

On July 4th, we had some quiet time in the afternoon and the girls and I got out a board game. Anyway, Sidney couldn't find the piece she was looking for and said "I can't find it 'dame it!'. I couldn't believe my ears so I asked her to repeat it. Just as I thought, she said it again. Thank goodness she doesn't even know how to swear correctly. I didn't want to say much about it because I didn't want to give power to it and she hasn't said it since. Yes, I did make a phone call home and gave warning to my mother :)

The highlight for me was at the Boardwalk. As my posts have shown, the girls love roller coaster and rides. This time they had their first experience with the bumper cars. They were tall enough to ride them by themselves. Sidney wanted to be nice at first in her car and then got the hang of it and started to plow into people. Sophia, on the other hand, got it right away and stalked her prey while driving. She made it a point, to drive full speed ahead and crash into every single person riding. She was so much fun to watch. I think the girls rode the bumper cars 3-4 times and I laughed harder after each time. When Sophia turns 16, I better make sure I have very good car insurance!

Here's some pics of our trip. Thank you Auntie Carol & Uncle Dennis for a wonderful, fun-filled vacation!
